Feed air is pressurized via the blower and then passes into the water cooler to reduce the temperature before entering the air balancer. After coming out of the air buffer tank, feed air flows into the adsorber through the switching system.
The switching system is made up of pneumatic switch butterfly valve, manual adjustingbutterfly valve and piping. The pneumatic switch valve is automatically controlled by programmable controller, which outputs an electric signal to first activate the solenoid valve to deliver instrument air to the pneumatic switch valve cylinder or to discharge it from the valve cylinder to act the valve.
After entering the adsorber, the process air first passes through the activated alumina to remove moisture and then flows through the molecular sieves. The nitrogen in air is selectively adsorbed by the molecular sieves, so that oxygen passes through the molecular sieves beds and reaches the top of the adsorber to be delivered out as product.
After a certain period time of operation, the molecular sieves almost reach the adsorption saturation and must be regenerated. The regeneration of the molecular sieves is achieved by evacuation. Due to the fact that the molecular sieve nitrogen adsorption capacity increases
with the rise of pressure, when the molecular sieve adsorber is evacuated, the adsorbed nitrogen will be desorbed and taken out of the adsorber via the vacuum pump.
Two adsorption beds are used and in each cycle, two adsorbers work alternatively to produce oxygen continuously.
